Tuft Moth

Westermannia superba

Description:

Elongated body. Dirty white and black in colour. But it seems to have a sort of slippery-shiny look. The tail end is edged with a broad band of black. Smudgy marks on thorax.

Habitat:

Suntaley khola is a remote village in West Bengal, India with the River Moorti flowing by it. There is only one narrow motorable road that ends by the river. Lots of vegetation growing low. Many tall trees too. Very biodiverse. Spotted in the resort we stayed at.
