I think this is a Falcon?

Habitat:

We saw it on a tree in our snowy backyard. Much cooler than the huge black starlings that have been hanging there.

I agree, the tail looks pretty rounded also.

It's either a Cooper's Hawk or a Sharp-Shinned Hawk. I think it's a Cooper's because the dark "cap" doesn't seem to go back onto the nape (back of the neck) of this bird.
