Pontia protodice, (Boisduval & Leconte, 1830)
It is a medium sized butterfly in the (Pieridae). The butterfly has white wings with some black spots on both forewings and some black patches on the hindwings. This one was laying eggs Clammy weed, (Polanisia dodecandra). This one was not on the list of host plants, though might feed on it.
Suburban, Fort Worth, Texas.
This species is found in the southern parts on the United States along with some of the northern areas of Mexico. Occasionally the species can be found in the northern parts of the U.S. and southern Canada.
