Eastern Gray Squirrel

Sciurus carolinensis

Description:

My school campus is full of Eastern Gray Squirrels; there honestly might be more squirrels on my campus than teachers! This was the best photo I could get all semester of a squirrel. They move so quickly it is hard to capture their essence. This little squirrel had a big, bushy tail and light gray-brown coat. His/her body appeared to be around 6 inches, and his/her tail to be about 6 inches.

Habitat:

This squirrel was found in middle Tennessee on a mild spring day on a college campus that is recognized for its effective management of plant & wildlife.
