That's brilliant thank you Nuwan! I went through the Flowers of India website, but was looking for it under the 'Browse by flower colour' heading.... Emile will be pleased to know as well.

Oh really Emile!! Well lets keep our fingers crossed and hope that we get an i.d : ) It obviously self seeds quite freely as there was quite an area of this plant although not all flowering out in the coconut plantation. The leaves look vaguely familiar .........

I would be interested to know the ID also; I've got a photo of the same species taken in 1995 and I'm still looking for an ID!
