This is a really interesting spotting Laura. You are right, this is a nene! There's a charity here in the UK called the Wildfowl and Werlands Trust (WWT), and at one of their reserves, they bred nene geese to help reintroduce them to their native Hawaii. This was a long time ago, in the 50s or 60s I think, but there are still some geese there today. However, the reserve is in Gloucestershire, so the fact that you found some in London is quite neat! Great find, such a rare bird.

Thought this was a Nene Goose; but Nene's seem to be in Hawaii only. This one was in London, England.
