Description:

About 3 millimeters in length. Note greatly enlarged hind femora ("thighs").

Habitat:

This one was visiting flowers on a lone, blooming saltcedar tree (Tamarix sp.) in an otherwise vast, degraded shortgrass prairie with sunflower, yucca, and scattered elm trees.

Notes:

The larvae of these wasps are parasites of caterpillars.
