Common Grass Yellow

Eurema hecabe hecabe

Description:

Pieridae; Coliadinae; Eurema hecabe hecabe Linnaeus 1758. This copulating pair were continuously on the move from plant to plant, stopping in each place for only a second or two. It was this behaviour that attracted my attention. From a short distance away, they looked like a single, larger butterfly

Habitat:

Spotted on foliage in a rice field which has been allowed to rest and grow wild this year.
