Southeastern Slimy Salamander

Plethodon grobmani

Description:

Small black salamander with white spots on back and legs

Habitat:

Spotted under rotting hardwood logs in close proximity to swampy area near the stream

Notes:

There were three of these salamanders. One was found under three different logs. I thought it was interesting that they did not congregate.
