Spangled Skimmer

Libellula cyanea

Habitat:

Well-vegetated ponds and lakes; occasionally slow-moving areas of streams in Eastern U.S. and as far west as Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Notes:

Though I didn't manage a clear in focus pic of the abdomen tip, I believe this is a young male with female coloration, but with clear wingtips.
