Your pictures of these Blue-banded Bees are beautiful and very interesting. There are some similar bees, Amegilla cingulata, in my backyard and I see them every day, mostly in the late afternoon, but I have never seen the bees here gathering in a group like those in your picture. It is amazing to see so many. Thank you for sharing. John B.
