Dasypus novemcinctus
The nine-banded armadillo is a mammal with an outer shell that is composed of overlapping scales. The claws on the middle toes of the forefeet are elongated for digging.
Spotted at the Arkansas Post National Monument.
They range from the southeastern United States to South America.
