Description:

Medium sized ducks. The male is strikingly marked with slate blue-gray feathers with distinct black, white, and ruddy markings on the head, neck, back, and sides. The female has a white patch on both sides of the head on an otherwise brown body.

Habitat:

Freshwater lakes and ponds.
