Description:

Orange, black and white butterfly with buff and white underside. The Gulf Fritillary was intentionally introduced to Hawaii in the 70s as a possible biological control agent for the banana poka, but they did not provide adequate control. They are sometimes considered pests due as they feed on passion fruit vines.
