Eudocimus albus
Fort Myers Beach
Ibis were feeding about the same time every day. It was great to watch them root around in the sand to catch little items of prey. Sometimes it was tiny fish, other times it seemed to be little shrimp of some kind. If you look at the second photo, you can see the prey item being tossed toward the opening of the mouth.

Thanks LandmarkExpert:)
awesome series, beaker!
Bill I hope you get to Florida this summer. You better be nice to your wife:-)
Thanks Tom! Agree that Florida birds aren't as nervous. This not only allows one to take good photos, but to observe behaviors that wouldn't normally be seen on a day to day basis. Planning another trip down there this summer, but would love to get deeper into the Everglades. Crossing my fingers, but it's up to my wife:)
Nice pics! Florida birds are great, they aren't as nervous as ones back north.
Thanks Christy and Ava! Agree Ava on the crossed legs. It just adds a different dimension to photos.
Birds look so sophisticated when they have their legs crossed like that. Here's a willet I caught in that part of its stride http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/789...
Love this!! Such a vivid red! Great series!
