Asian Green Mussel

Perna viridis

Description:

Green mussels are coastal bivalves, typically occurring at depths of less than 10 m, and shown to be tolerant of a wide range of turbidity and pollution.

Habitat:

The Asian green mussel is found in the coastal waters of the Indo-Pacific region.

Notes:

The aquarium has unfiltered water from the bay. Even though the water is not pure, it still harbours life. The unfiltered water tank has lots of sea worms too.
