Golden Orb Spider

Nephelia

Description:

The Golden Orb Spider is an eight-legged arachnid. Spins a large web. Has an attractive appearance/warning colors, possibly to warn off potential predators. It is toxic, though not lethal to humans. It is neurotoxic in nature. Its web is large and shaped like a Y-frame, specifically to trap larger flying insects.Golden Orb Spiders have striped legs that are specialised for weaving (where their tips point inward and not outward as is the case with many wandering spiders). Their contrast of dark brown/black and green/yellow with white dots allows warning off predators.
