Brown-striped Semilooper

Mocis undata

Description:

M. undata is a semilooper moth from the family of Erebidae, it is found in Afrotropical and oriental region as well as in India and Sri Lanka.

Habitat:

Farmland, mixed tropical forest.

Notes:

Struggled between M. trifaciata, M. mayeri and eventually settled on M. undata due to the regional likeliness of distribution. Though the pictures presented on inaturalist show a distinct spot over the first band from the top of the forewing, wikipedias picture did not. I contribute this to genetic pattern-variation, or it might be a sub species.
