Planta epifita del bosque lluvioso, sus hojas presentas parches de color rojo intenso justo antes de desarrollar las flores , como parte de la estrategia de atraer polinizadores quizás porque sus brácteas no cumplen bien tal función. Rainforest epiphyte plant, the leaves show bright red patches just before the flowers develop, as part of the strategy to attract pollinators, this probably happens because the bracts may not work well doing that.

This species is very similar to the C. consanguinea , as it has the red patches on the leaves, but the hairy bracts, and the long stems on it make me think on something else , the C consanguinea has yellow flowers.
I hope this is a new species....
