Ocellated Skink

Chalcides ocellatu

Description:

Also called Eyed Skink. This pair are pets, and they are not native to this area. This is a breeding pair, the male is the one who's head is further from the camera. They are native to Mediterranean area, but photos and info on them is uncommon, so I wanted to upload a picture. They like to burrow in the sand, and enjoy mealworms, crickets, and the occasional bite of wet cat food.

Habitat:

Found in the Mediterranean, they like dryish environments with lots of sand/gravel to burrow and hide.
