Luzon Striped Ringlet

Ragadia luzonia luzonia

Description:

Ragadia (family Nymphalidae; subfamily Satyrinae; tribe Ragadiini) is a genus commonly called Ringlets. It is instantly recognisable from the zebra-striped pattern, and the long series of evenly-sized ocelli on the outer part of the underside wings. Ragadia luzonia luzonia C.& R.Felder, 1861 is the existing endemic ssp in Luzon.

Habitat:

At the Makiling Botanic Gardens, a forest park of the Mt. Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (adjacent or within the UPLB-College of Forestry and Natural Resources), University of the Philippines at Los Baños, Laguna.
