Anas crecca
Second picture shows the habitat from the clifftops so as my car was parked close to these flooded fields I decided to take a closer look. At first all I could see was a few ducks but then a huge flocks of birds appeared around sunset so I waited and the place became alive with at least 100 Black-headed Gulls and 100 Lapwings, along with smaller numbers of Canada Geese and Curlews to join the three duck species, Teal, Mallard and Wigeon.
