Description:

Dark-colored pelican with light-colored head flying north offshore of South Jetty at the mouth of he Columbia River.

Habitat:

Pacific Northwest coastal estuary ecosystem.

Notes:

The uploaded image is a cropped and enhanced actual pixels enlargement from an original image in which the pelican appeared as little more than a speck. It was one of several pelicans flying north offshore of the coast just south of the mouth of the Columbia River.
