I have a TON of these everywhere at my house, in my house, everywhere. They are related to the black/brown widows, but not lethal like they are. They appear like a widow due to the large round abdomen, but they are only related. If you aren't 100% sure, google the American House Spider and see if it resembles your spider. They are actually beautiful things!

Thanks for your help kunzah. It could be Parasteatoda tepidariorum - the pattern is similar but the the abdomen was more oval than typical for the comb-clawed spiders. I'm going to submit to bugguide & see what they suggest.

Okie dokie, like I said, I wasn't sure. The shininess of this spider puzzles me, haha.

Thanks for the suggestion kunzah. I'm pretty sure that this isn't a marbled orbweaver though as they usually have round matt abdomens.

Not totally sure, but that's my guess.
