Common tree snake

Dendrelaphis punctulata

Description:

It was very small and had a long slender body. It's head was tiny compared to other tree snakes. It was mostly green but had a lot of brown colours around its head.

Habitat:

Common tree snakes live in a wide variety of habitats including bushland well vegetated banks of rivers, creeks, streams and rainforest as well as eucalyptus Forests.

Notes:

When I found this snake it had fallen out of a tree so picked it up by the tail and it nearly bit me then I put it back in the tree.

Good to know you know how to handle snakes...I don't so I give 'em a WIDE berth.
Fell on your friend's head...Oh My...what an adventurous day!! Glad it ended well for all concerned. Good luck with further spottings.

I do know how to handle snakes I have been doing it for years but yeah it probably could have got back in the tree by its self. It actually fell on my friends head.

I am sure the snake would have climbed back on the tree without your help...it is not very wise to touch, pick up snakes (or any wild animal) unless TRAINED!!! I am in faraway India and I am still shuddering to think what might have been...you were lucky...
