Endoxyla secta
A smallish Cossid moth at 25mm with typical 'cracked' patterns on upper wings. A dark shape behind the head might help with species. Hind wings not revealed.
Resting on an awning under strong lights at a local used car yard late at night. For pics 2 and 3 it cooperated by moving down to the ground.
This was one of many similar looking but very different sized cossids found in one evening. http://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:b... superfamily: COSSOIDEA family: COSSIDAE subfamily: ZEUZERINAE genus: Endoxyla
