Description:

Brown butterfly with large eye spots on both the forewings and hindwings. There are orange bars on the front of the forewings. Light band across the forewing. Yellowing on the ends of the hindwing. The last image is of a beat up and faded Common Buckeye.

Habitat:

Grassland in my backyard. This species is found throughout the continental US, Mexico and eastern Canada
