As mentioned below I would call this not melanistic but "partly melanistic". Melanistic would be completely black.

This guy looks like a partly melanistic red fox. This is a result of
melanism, which is, in short, the exact opposite of albinism, in that the body is very dark. If it were to be wholly melanistic, it would be completely black, yet the other markings show it is only partly melanistic.
