Description:

Family: Nymphalidea, Subfamily: Danainae. Probably the best known North American Butterfly. This caterpillar is banded with yellow, black and white stripes. Head is also striped yellow and black. 2 pairs of black filaments - one pair on each end of the body. 5 cm long (2 inches)

Habitat:

Meadow eating milkweed
