Spotting

Description:

about 8 1/2 inches, spotted, goby? Found on Oahu

Notes:

I know it looks like this fish was caught and put in the bucket, but to be honest it wasn’t. We found it in our parking lot (which was dry), with the fish taking shallow, rapid breaths. We decided to keep it since no one has claimed it so far and we don’t have a tank so we kept it in the bucket. Is it a land fish like the mudskippers or eel? What do we feed it?

Kind of looks like plecostomus... Hopefully it is not as they are extremely invasive fish.

I don't see anything on the fish that would indicate that it would be able to survive out of water for very long. Body shape doesn't seem to match anything on land. Catfish have feelers. Pectoral fins are shaped and position for bottom feeding. I am guess a bird pecked it out of the water and dropped it.
