Tulsi is a wonderfully nutritious and healing herb and is also THE most sacred herb in Hindu religion, Tulsi is worshipped as a Goddess, consort to Vishnu that was made into a plant out of the jealousy of Lakshmi. (see reference)

Tulsi is now considered an adaptogenic herb, in many mainstream herbal formulas.....and of course Tulsi tea is now easily obtainable (in health food stores) and becoming a well known sacred herb.
That's interesting you call it Tulsi there. I thought only in India. A type of basil.
There are several kinds of Tulsi...This one is a beautiful purple.
