Western Pasqueflower (Seedpod)

Anemone occidentalis

Description:

The seedpod stage of the Western Pasqueflower. The long white silky feather-like hairs are attached on the top of the stem.

Habitat:

Subalpine meadows. This one was spotted on the Naches Peak Loop Trail, Mt. Rainier National Park, WA.

This is one of the most unique plants when in seed. It's a personal favorite! I like to call it a 'mop-top'.
