Family: Psychidae
About 18mm long a casemoth or bagworm with a case that looked like it made from ragged silk. Soft to touch. The creature had pulled the tips of several casuarina needles from different directions together which would have been interesting to watch. Further observations should be possible with this one.
Suburban back yard on casuarina sp.
I could not determine what the case was made off but I am fairly sure it wasn't from the casuarina upon which it was found.

Interesting how it has trussed the reeds together to give it a stable anchoring.
