Great Globe Thistle

Echinops sphaerocephalus

Description:

Big thistel, ca 1,7 meter high. Stem is hairy and hollow, leafs are zig-zagged on the edges with sharp spikes pointing outwards, seed-capsules are about 1,5-5 cm in diameter, spherical and are covered with spikes.

Habitat:

Mixed forest, farmland, next to a dirt road close to a pond.
