Glassy-winged Sharpshooter /Smoke Tree Sharpshooter

Homalodisca vitripennis

Habitat:

This insect was found on the western side of the house in the morning. It was at the top most part of a rose bush.

Notes:

I noticed this bug when i was pruning my rose bush. It was ejecting some clear liquid out of the opposite end of the head, the genitalia perhaps. I was not able to distinguish 100% whether this bug is a smoke tree sharp shooter (Homalodisca lacerta) or a Glassy-winged sharp shooter (Homalodisca vitripennis)
