Hi Elizabeth, no worries, they can be difficult to tell apart. It looks like it has a white band on it's tail, but it's not quite clear, love the 2nd photo too!

Thank you for the ID Alex. Apparently we have 24 different species of bumblebees in the UK, but I am having a job telling them apart. I greatly appreciate your help. I have put another photo up, showing the 'rear end' of this little creature (in line with it's name).
