Spined Micrathena (female)

Micrathena gracilis

Description:

My new favorite spider! Photo three is defense pose. Photo one is normal pose, photo two is ventral view. This one was found making a web across a 30 foot pass in between two trees! Supposedly there has been a great increase in their numbers this year!

Habitat:

Scattered woodlands, preferably deciduous from my finds.
