Tabanid Flies are commonly known as horse and deer flies, but unlike most other tabanid species, none of the females of Stonemyia are known to feed on blood. Most are seen on flowers and are considered to be important pollinators.

Habitat:

Eastern North America. Mostly found on flowers.
