In some months, I monitor C. montrouzieri in hibiscus in my yard. When the temperature is very high on the plant, hot days, the larvae descend and seek a cool place to rest in the shade; Sometimes dozens of Mealybug Ladybird larvae were meeting on a damp wall in my home, taking refuge from the hot sun. In 2013, hibiscus plants (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) in my yard were attacked by mealybugs (Was observed myrmecophily - camponotus ant and mealybugs, in exchange for food) . Mealybugs stayed on the leaves of the ends of the branches, where lies the growth hormones of plants. So C. montrouzieri emerged as small heroes, eggs and larvae C. montrouzieri pitched in the hibiscus, and made an efficient biological control, exterminating the mealybugs almost altogether. And the hibiscus bloomed again.
