Description:

This dragonfly was resting on a African iris plant. This one here was a female, while males have blue abdomens, and more white on the wings. These dragonflies are in the group of king skimmers.

Habitat:

In my garden, Fort Worth, Texas.

Notes:

This dragonfly species is commonly found in muddy substrates, or still bodies of waters such as ponds, lakes, streams, and creeks.
