Lycoperdon pyriforme
Small brown puff balls growing on a dead log.
Dead log in diverse woods near many small lakes and bogs.
Cool! Thanks -- I'm having trouble following the bouncing ball so-to-speak... should I move this to the 'other' category?
Lycogala doesnt forms a true mouth. It's because Lycogala isn't a real fungi. It's a Myxogastria (now in protozoa).
Not a Lycoperdon perlatum, it's a Lycoperdon pyriforme, the only species that grows in wood.
