Family: Nymphalidea, Subfamily: Phyciodes. Mating. Pattern is variable. Upperside is orange with black border. Male has black antennae knobs. Adults feed on swamp milkweed and asters to name a few.

Habitat:

Meadows, fields. Range: Throughout most of the United States except West coast and Southern Canada.
