Black Witch Moth (Male)

Ascalapha odorata

Description:

Black Witch is considered a harbinger of death in Mexican folklore. But for me when I was a kid I use to see many of them during August or September. When we found them in the classroon it was a riot because they said that if the "dust" of the wings fell on your head you would go bald, maybe that is what happened to me ha ha. About 12 cm wingspan (5 inches)

Habitat:

Semi tropical forest of the mexican Pacific
