Common Grackle

Quiscalus quiscula

Description:

This bird caught my eye because of it's striking yellow eyes that are in total contrast with the inky black feathers on it's head. It stayed perched on this branch and let me take many photos (thank goodness, my lens was cheap, and this is the only shot that didn't have motion blur.

Habitat:

Spotted in a swampy area at the East side of Riverdale Farm -- adjacent to the Don Valley. The Don River is only a few dozen meters away.
