How do they get like that? Is it from being attacked?

Poor thing, I have seen them so beat up like that, they still fly and drink but they make so much noise flying you know it will get spotted and eaten soon.

Yeah that's what I thought when I saw it too ): I didn't have the opportunity to see if it was having any trouble flying because it didn't leave the bush. Hope its okay.
