Cyanocitta stelleri
The Stellar's jay, also known as the pine jay, mountain jay, or long-crested jay, is known to frequent campsites and picnic areas to scavenge for food like many did here near Estes park. This particular area was full of ground squirrels and chipmunks people love to feed and the birds swooped in to pick up peanuts, shelled or not, whenever they could. Peanuts and pine nuts are known favorites of theirs.
Coniferous forest.
