Plestiodon spp.
This little one was basking in the sun on a trail bridge and nibbling at the occasional passing ant.
mixed woods
Sure thing Lisa, will do, I just got the scientific name off the web, thanks again.
Chester,Without looking at the scales on the underside of the tail, it is not really possible to ID this one to species. I would just stick with, 'A five-lined skink' and list it as Plestiodon spp. (That is the new genus name).
Great Shot !!
