I was watering some plants next to my house, and up from the dirt comes this toad! All it took was a little water for it to emerge from the loose potting soil and mulch.
Suburban neighborhood.
This toad appeared at the same time that I saw a northern leopard frog, right next to it (2 feet away). The leaky faucet on the side of the house probably makes a pretty nice environment for a frog or toad.
