Apple Snail

Pomacea canaliculata

Notes:

This is a highly invasive snail species introduced to Hawaii as a food item. I found a family collecting them for their child's science experiment. Their pink eggs were everywhere on the invasive cattails. Unfortunately, Kawainui Marsh is overrun with invasives.

I've moved this snail from the Arthropods category to the Other category for you. Arthropods have exoskelatons and jointed limbs; think bee, dragonfly, crab.
