This butterfly noticed me taking pictures, then it did open its wing for better camouflage I believe.
Semi desert
From what I can gather, American Snout is the only snout within range. Other species in the genus seem to be endemic to other areas.

It's a Snout, I don't know if American Snout ranges that far south or if it is another species.
